Use a colour coding system on your boxes, assigning each room in your new house a different

colour. Ideally use a floor plan (available from

) to easily highlight which room is

represented by which colour for those helping out on moving day.

Mark each box, case and item of furniture with the appropriate colour, and then put signs on the

doors of your new home as soon as you arrive to ensure that the furniture and boxes ends up

in the right place. This is especially useful for bedrooms, where you don’t want to have to move

large items of furniture such as beds, if they are left in the wrong rooms.
